Live in Rhythm is the second release this year by Eastern Electric. A heavily reggae influenced track, this song emerges first as a statement of solidarity with the social and racial justice movement here in America and second, as a statement that with a true heart, one should need no pundit, politician, or otherwise to determine their own truth.

“You don’t need a doctor to tell when your eyes are open. You don’t need to raise your flag just to know which way the wind is blowin’. You don’t need no politician to tell you how you come correct. You just need a true heart beating strong in your chest…”

A heart beats in rhythm naturally. It is one of our most basic, unifying traits. However, this does not mean we all play the same part - it means that whatever our part is, we all stick together. On the most fundamental and significant levels, we are all together. We all bleed the same. We are all brothers and sisters.

Clendenen and bandmates Kyle Coffey (organ, melodica), Joseph Esham (Pedal Steel Guitar), Charlie Greenhalgh (Bass), and Dave Gladding (Drums, Percussion) are very happy to be joined by their good friend and very special guest, Ted Bowne of the far-traveled, heavily acclaimed rock-reggae group, Passafire. Their collaboration adds a whole new dimension to Eastern Electric’s gritty, roots-heavy sound.
